Split Employment Contracts For Non-UK Domicillaries Under Attack

Foreign workers based in Britain could face larger tax bills if they complete work with overseas clients while working in the UK. Earlier this year the Revenue published a clarification of the rules surrounding dual contract arrangements, where non-UK domiciled people are employed under two different contracts of employment. From now on, when HMRC comes across a dual contract, it says it will investigate fully the facts and circumstances, including the commercial rationale and context and will assess an employee to tax where the evidence shows that there is in fact only a single employment in existence.
